Associate Kayla: Jason and Joanna's Engagements {Still Water Winery}

Jason and Joanna have one of the most amazing stories. First of all, they flew here from Texas for their engagement session and are getting married in April at The Cliffs. How in the world did they decide to get married here? Well they pretty much spun a globe and put their finger on Pismo Beach, California. How awesome is that? And to top it off, they met on an online dating site even though they lived in the same town! I found myself smiling at how sweet they were together and amazed at how all of these random events had to have happened for them to be standing in front of me having their engagement pictures taken. They picked the perfect time to have their engagements done at a winery, because it was just a few days later that all of those beautiful leaves were gone. And in my opinion, it was the prettiest time of the year. Congratulations to you both!

Helt Wedding {Paso Robles}

Kasey has been a dear friend of mine since I moved to California so it was an honor being the photographer for her and Dan's wedding on Saturday at Still Waters Vineyard. There is no greater joy in capturing a friend's big day...yes, I found myself torn between holding back tears at the reality of my friends becoming husband and wife, but I loved it. Kasey was radiant...I don't know if that word even does it justice. She looked absolutely beautiful in an effortless way. Dan was handsome and calm but his goofy side definitely was free to come out when he was around his bride. It's fun being behind the camera watching your friends laugh as they interact with one another...it's a unique glimpse at the playfulness they have in their relationship.

As for the day, it was perfect from start to finish. Still Waters Vineyard has everything from the scenic rows of vines representing Paso Robles, an olive orchard making one feel they are in a secret garden and a perfect lawn for mingling, eating and dancing. The night quickly got started with dancing after Phil's Catering family style dinner. Guests did not hold back and were on the dancing floor until the last song. Kasey and Dan were truly surrounded by all their friends and family for the celebration...exactly what they hoped for. Congratulations sweet friends!

Engagements at Still Waters Winery

It's definitely the session for engagement sessions. Stephanie and Joey were flexible with their location so I immediately mentioined Still Waters Winery since it's become one of my favorite spots. The owners have done a fabulous job with all the details and character throughout the property. From metal doors to an olive orchard, the winery is perfect!

Stephanie and Joey were great to capture too. They both have an easy going spirit about them. Joey was honest and told me that he was not a huge picture guy, but after a quick shoot he laughed at how easy it was. For his reward for a job well done, he got to finish the shoot with some wine tasting...not a bad deal.
