Josh + Nikki's Wedding {Cliffs Resort}

"What matters now is when we get married...it doesn't matter where." This was a sweet quote my associate Kayla heard from Nikki and Josh as they waited for the crazy thunderstorm to pass over in order for them to begin their ceremony on Sunday. It's very rare for the San Luis Obispo County to have severe rain but Sunday proved to be one of those rare times. I just cling to the old saying that rain is good luck on a wedding...and Josh and Nikki now have plenty of it. :) The couple's beautiful ceremony was planned to take place on the lawn at the Cliffs Resort. Luckily, Kayla and Shelbea took pictures before the ceremony but, unfortunately, the rain and wind kicked into high gear thus causing the entire wedding to be adjusted and moved. Regardless the circumstances with a rain filled tent and anything else one could image, Nikki was absolutely stunning with her whimsical hair style and gorgeous dress. She definitely caught everyone's eye (including Josh's) as she enjoyed the night with both friends and family. My associate Kayla and I are thrilled for this marriage and admire both Josh and Nikki for smiling through Sunday's eventfulness...blessings to you both!

Michael + Kelley's Wedding {Santa Margarita Ranch}

Michael and Kelley's wedding at the Santa Margarita Ranch was a perfect way for me to finish up the 2010 wedding season before the soon arrival of my second child! They are such a vivacious couple who captured my heart from our first consultation and have kept me laughing since. Kelley is clearly beyond beautiful with a picture perfect smile and Michael has such a comedic draw to him that they almost make a super couple.

Due to the unique November weather, Michael and Kelley had to move their ceremony inside the barn where the reception would also be held. I was excited when I heard the news since I have always wanted to shoot a ceremony in the barn...the natural lighting is amazing and creates such an intimate atmosphere. How thrilled I was! Everything was beautiful and it almost made for a surreal day. Guests were treated to every detail the couple thought of for the wedding (including a heavenly donut spread for dessert) and everyone truly celebrated the union of this amazing couple. Again, I love my job and I am thankful for incredible couples like the new Mr. and Mrs. Odil!
