Why do I do photography? Sometimes I think it's because I like to be artistic; other times it's to be creative, but then I have a photoshoot that reminds me of the real reason. I love photography because it gives me a special ability-- to freeze time. Take weddings for example. There is only one chance to catch that look on the grooms face when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time; only one chance to catch that ceremonious kiss that seals the deal; or one split second to catch the brides smirk before she smashes cake in the grooms face. THIS is why I am in love with wedding photography.

Meet "Princesa" Allysson. Her shoot is what brought me back to reality and reminded me why I do what I do. Allysson was a ham during our photoshoot--blowing kisses and giving me "sass". It was the weekend of our hometown's rodeo and veterans day, so Allysson was dressed in her best red, white, and blue's with boots to match. Allyson is not only special because she is a firecracker, but because she has terminal cancer. In the end of February of this year, doctors found cancer in Allysson's lungs, then in June they discovered that it had spread to her brain--she was given six months to a year to live. Allysson's photoshoot taught me two things: Life is too short to not be happy and even a little bit of a firecracker. Secondly, it reminded me why I do what I do-- so that I could capture this little princess just the way she is for her family forever.
